Tommy Fleetwood won his eighth DP World Tour event at the India Championship in New Delhi on Sunday.

Fleetwood entered the final round two strokes behind playing partner Keita Nakajima and overtook him with an excellent 65.

It’s the Englishman’s second victory in the 2025 season after winning the PGA Tour’s season-ending Tour Championship in August.

After the India Championship, Fleetwood confirmed that he will now play two more DP World Tour events this year.

Tommy Fleetwood adds two tournaments to 2025 schedule

Three events remain in the 2025 DP World Tour season: the Korea Championship, the Abu Dhabi Championship, and the Tour Championship.

Fleetwood was not expected to play in any of those tournaments until his victory in India, but that has suddenly changed.

The 34-year-old has qualified for the final two events of the season after climbing from 94th to 25th in the Race to Dubai.

“Yeah, we said at the start of the week, I’ve had such a great year, but there were a couple of things that disappointed me, and my run on the DP World Tour was one of those things,” he explained.

“Just not being where I want to be in terms of the Order of Merit and how I’ve played when I have played this tour was bothering me.

“This means a lot, this win. It means I can carry on, and I can play Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and there are still opportunities left.

“I’m really looking forward to getting home and practising and preparing for those last two events and seeing what we can do in those, as well. I really wanted to qualify for those last events, and there was that sort of added pressure as well.

“Even today, you’re trying to win the tournament, but I also know that I need a good finish, as well, to continue that going. Yeah, very happy that that’s done, and I can look forward to the next couple of events.”

Can Tommy Fleetwood win the 2025 Race to Dubai title?

The two leading contenders to win the 2025 Race to Dubai title are Rory McIlroy (4,132.56 points) and Marco Penge (3,681.24 pts).

Two more players in contention ahead of the two events in the United Arab Emirates are Tyrrell Hatton (2,866.08 pts) and Robert MacIntyre (2,453.59 pts).

Tommy Fleetwood is a long way behind in 25th place, on 1,366.47 points, and would need a miracle to win the Harry Vardon Trophy.

If he were to win both the Abu Dhabi Championship and the Tour Championship, he would receive another 3,665 points.

With just over 5,000 points, Fleetwood would then have a good chance of winning the competition if neither McIlroy nor Penge finished second at either event.
