PGA Tour youngster Tom Kim has shared an update on his current schedule ahead of this week’s Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin.
The South Korean is back in action after an eventful Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal Golf Club. Kim was front and centre of the action in Quebec as Mike Weir’s International Team fell to a tenth successive defeat.
Now, with the PGA Tour’s Fall stretch in full swing, Kim is looking to make history by becoming the first player to win three consecutive years at the same tournament. The 22-year-old won the 2023 and 2022 editions of the Shriners Children’s Open.
Ahead of Thursday’s first round, Kim shared an update on his plans after this week’s event concludes in Las Vegas.
Tom Kim heads to DP World Tour after Shriners Children’s Open

Kim confirmed that he would be heading to the DP World Tour after this week’s PGA Tour tournament, with the 22-year-old set to compete in the Korea Championship at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea.
“So I’m actually going to play in Korea next week,” Kim revealed. “That’s going to be really cool. I haven’t been back home, played in front of my hometown crowd since basically before I got to the PGA Tour. It’s been two and a half to three years, and I’m going to play that next week.”
Kim is also set to play Tiger Woods’ Hero World Challenge in Albany. “Then I’ll play an event in Hong Kong and finish the year at Tiger’s event and at Grant Thornton,” Kim added.
Tom Kim follows in Billy Horschel’s DP World Tour footsteps
Kim heading to the DP World Tour comes after Billy Horschel enjoyed a month-long trip in Europe. The American made history at the BMW PGA Championship before also participating in the Alfred Dunhill and Open De France.
Horschel’s decision to head over the Atlantic is something more PGA Tour players should emulate. The end-of-summer stretch in Europe sees some of the best courses in the world used to host historic tournaments.
The Irish Open, BMW PGA Championship and Alfred Dunhill Links Championship should be filled with PGA and DP World Tour stars.
Hopefully, with Kim crossing tours next week, further players will follow suit over the coming years.
