Golf fans were treated during the final round of the Hero World Challenge as Tiger Woods joined Smylie Kaufman on the Golf Channel’s coverage.

Unsurprisingly, the 15-time major winner was quizzed on various things, mainly whether he’s set to participate in the PNC Championship alongside his son, Charlie.

Woods also shared his opinion on Scottie Scheffler’s new putting grip and predicted how Justin Thomas will perform when the 2025 PGA Tour season starts at The Sentry next month.

Swede Ludvig Aberg was also a topic of conversation, and Woods was quick to praise the up-and-coming PGA Tour star.

Speaking during Sunday’s NBC coverage, Woods admitted that it’s hard to envisage Aberg hitting a bad shot.

“It looks very simple watching him hit golf shots,” Woods said. “You don’t know how he can hit a bad one.”

Aberg finished sixth at the Hero World Challenge in what was his second start since undergoing surgery after the 2024 Tour Championship.

Aberg provided a positive update during his pre-tournament press conference, however. “I knew that I needed to have surgery at some point, but I also felt like I could last throughout the season, obviously playing through the (FedEx Cup) Playoffs, and then after the Playoffs was a good time to kind of deal with it and get it done,” he said.

“Ultimately, I felt like I made the right choice in terms of the timing and how we handled it. If I were to do it again, I would do the same thing. I feel 100 percent, otherwise I wouldn’t be here.”

Ludvig Aberg Hero World Challenge stats

Aberg didn’t look like he had spent an extended period away from professional golf at the Hero Word Challenge.

The 25-year-old gained 5.63 strokes off the tee and ranked second in the field. Furthermore, Aberg ranked tenth when it came to approaches to the green.

The Swede, however, struggled around the greens. Aberg lost 1.68 shots chipping and pitching onto the putting surfaces and 0.22 strokes with the flat stick in the Bahamas.

As the 2025 PGA Tour season approaches, the European Ryder Cup star will improve. Given the strength of his long game, he has an excellent chance of competing in the major championship season, which begins in April at the Masters.
