The PGA Tour and DP World Tour continued this past week, with Ben Griffin and Tommy Fleetwood among those impressing.

On the DP World Tour, Aaron Rai won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links, but Fleetwood earned high praise after finishing second.

Rai beat Fleetwood in a playoff in Abu Dhabi, denying the latter another win after his Tour Championship and Ryder Cup success.

And on the PGA Tour, Griffin won the World Wide Technology Championship for his third career victory, all three of which have arrived this season.

Griffin won the title by two shots at El Cardonal Golf Course in Mexico, edging out Chad Ramey and Sami Valimaki.

The updated Official World Golf Ranking top 10

Griffin has now entered the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) following his success, climbing three spots from 12th to ninth.

With the rise, the American has pushed his recent Ryder Cup opponent Justin Rose from ninth place to 10th.

Rose’s teammate from Bethpage Black Fleetwood has also made a significant move, rising one spot from fifth to fourth.

The Englishman has swapped with Russell Henley, whose Ryder Cup teammate Scottie Scheffler remains top of the pile.

Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele complete the top three, with the OWGR understandably dominated by PGA Tour players.

What is the current situation with LIV Golf and the Official World Golf Rankings?

The OWGR will mean a great deal for many players, just as it does to LIV Golf, which is currently continuing its battle for world ranking points.

LIV Golf could earn world ranking points with its switch from 54 holes to 72, a change that will be implemented immediately.

For now, however, its players continue to slip down the rankings, with Bryson DeChambeau having just been directly impacted.

He has dropped one spot from 23rd to 24th this week, with Abu Dhabi champion Rai now occupying his old spot.

The Englishman has risen seven places following his success, with his compatriot Tyrrell Hatton representing the highest-ranked LIV Golf player, in 21st.
