Keegan Bradley has the unenviable chance of managing his PGA Tour schedule whilst also preparing for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

Mid-way through the 2025 FedEx Cup playoffs, the USA captain will have a plethora of options to consider, with LIV Golf players now eligible for the Bethpage Black event. The likes of Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed and Dustin Johnson will all put forward a strong case to be included over the next seven months.

Bradley’s side will start taking shape after the US Open, and several in-form PGA Tour players will vie for a pick. Currently, Justin Thomas, Wyndham Clark and Billy Horschel are three names on the wrong side of the dotted line.

Those who were part of Jim Furyk’s Presidents Cup team will also feel deserving of a pick. However, journalist Dan Rapaport has named three players from Royal Montreal who could miss out on September’s Ryder Cup side.

Speaking during his latest podcast episode, Rapaport expressed his concern for Sam Burns and Sahith Theegala, both of whom helped the USA win the Presidents Cup last year.

“Sam Burns is definitely the highest-ranked guy I don’t have on this list. He has played with Scottie, a bunch in the past. I just didn’t love what I saw at the Ryder Cup in Italy,” Rapaport said.

Sahith Theegala is a guy who made the Presidents Cup. Super friendly. He can play with anyone. I am just a little concerned with his driving at Bethpage, even though he has improved it.”

Rapaport also claimed Bradley would struggle to handle the emotions of captaining the side and playing simultaneously. “Keegan. I just don’t think he emotionally could handle it,” he added.

13 PGA Tour wins between Sahith Theegala, Keegan Bradley and Sam Burns

Burns, Theegala and Bradley have a total of 13 PGA Tour wins between them, and the USA captain tasted victory most recently at the 2024 BMW Championship in Denver.

Bradley would like to be part of his team, but only if he qualifies automatically. The chances of the 38-year-old picking himself are slim.

As for Burns, it would be a brave call to leave the five-time PGA Tour winner out. Burns left the 2024 Presidents Cup undefeated and picked up three points for the USA.

Theegala also avoided defeat in Montreal but only picked up one point from his two matches.
