PGA Tour players are among the highest-paid athletes in the world; however, maintaining a professional lifestyle is quite expensive.

For Scottie Scheffler, who earned $60 million in 2024, using private jets each week likely doesn’t significantly impact the world number one.

It’s a similar story for Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, whose lavish lifestyles were portrayed in the hit Netflix series Full Swing.

However, for the majority of PGA Tour players, the cost of travelling to events and accommodation can significantly reduce their annual paycheque.

Michael Kim, one of the more open players on tour, has now revealed the staggering amount he spent travelling and housing himself at 30 PGA Tour events in 2024.

Taking to X on Friday evening, Kim revealed that he’s spent $92,698.11 on flights and accommodation during the 2024 season.

Furthermore, the American confirmed he rarely flew in business class. “This is my spending on flights and hotels for 30 tournaments in 2024,” Kim wrote.

“Zero dollars spent on private flights, and rarely business class. Can’t imagine some of the top guys’ costs… At least I’m racking up some CC points!”

Away from the glitz and glamour of golf’s highest-earning players, some on the PGA Tour, like Kim, are living a slightly more relatable lifestyle.

Kim played regularly throughout the fall season, and the 31-year-old will maintain a full PGA Tour card for the 2025 campaign.

The highlights of the American’s season came at the American Express, where he tied for sixth, and the Shriners Children’s Open, where he tied for fifth.

Kim will pocket $1,484,233 for his efforts. Roughly 6% of his winnings will cover his travel expenses and accommodation. For context, if Scheffler spent 92,000 on travel and accommodation, 0.15% of his season earnings would cover his costs.
