The Masters 2025: Scottie Scheffler’s and Rory McIlroy’s second round tee times, Augusta weather forecast, how to watch and more

We’re already one-quarter through the Masters Tournament! The Golfing Gazette previews the second round at Augusta National.

Honorary starters Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson got the event underway on Thursday morning, before the world’s best were put to the test.

Justin Rose, Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau all had impressive opening round performances, but it’s far too soon for any of them to get carried away.

Here we have the second round tee times, weather forecast and how to watch the play from Augusta.

The Masters 2nd round tee times

The tee times for the second round of The Masters have been confirmed. The groupings remain the same from the opening round.

Scheffler will play alongside Justin Thomas and amateur Jose Luis Ballester. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy is with Ludvig Aberg and Akshay Bhatia.

The Masters weather forecast Friday

Augusta experienced rain on Monday, but the weather has been good since then. It’s projected to stay that way for the remainder of the week, according to BBC Weather.

The winds are expected to pick up in the afternoon on Friday, perhaps giving an advantage to those with morning tee times.

How to watch The Masters today

Golf fans in the United States can watch the second round of The Masters on ESPN from 3 to 7:30 p.m. (Eastern Time).

Additional coverage includes “Morning at The Masters” on Masters YouTube from 9 to 9:30 a.m. and “Welcome to the Masters” on ESPN from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Masters second round key storyline

Rose leads the way after 18 holes, having posted an excellent seven-under 65, but it’s McIlroy and Scheffler who stole the headlines on day one.

Every golf fan wants to see the two best players in the world battle it out for the Green Jacket over the weekend, and that seemed highly likely at one point.

That was before McIlroy dropped multiple shots on the back nine, leaving him with work to do on Friday.
