The brand new series of Full Swing is just days away from being released, and a lot has changed since series two wrapped up at the 2023 Ryder Cup.
Scottie Scheffler’s record-breaking PGA Tour season, Rory McIlroy’s US Open heartache, Bryson DeChambeau’s meteoric YouTube rise, Xander Schauffele’s double-major winning season, and the small matter of talks between the PIF and the PGA Tour are just a number of the talking points that will undoubtedly be covered in the new series.
The Netflix trailer teased the likes of McIlroy, DeChambeau and Scheffler playing starring roles, along with some lesser-known characters such as Neal Shipley, the amateur who played alongside Tiger Woods at the 2024 Masters Tournament.
Season one of Full Swing was released in February 2023, and it’s safe to say the cast looked very different back then. In episode seven, Joaquin Niemann and Mito Pereira were under the spotlight. Of course, both play on LIV now.
Joaquin Niemann and Mito Pereira made LIV Golf switch

In series one, Pereira was the main focus as the cameras documented the Chilean’s rise from the Korn Ferry Tour into the PGA Tour.
Fortunately for the producers, Pereira found himself in contention at the 2022 PGA Championship and actually had a chance to win coming down the 72nd hole.
The Chilean knew par would seal the deal and stave off the advances of Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris. However, Pereira opted to hit a driver off the tee on Southern Hills’ tough 18th. He found the water and eventually made a double bogey to miss out on the playoff.
Alongside Pereira’s story, his close friend Joaquin Niemann was also documented. The now LIV Golf star was filmed winning the 2022 Genesis Invitational at Riviera. Niemann signed for LIV in the second half of 2022, and Pereira joined his compatriot before the start of the 2023 season.
Ian Poulter, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson all with LIV after Full Swing series 1
During the second episode of Full Swing series one, the cameras followed an out-of-form Brooks Koepka. The American was defending champion at the WM Phoenix Open but watched on as Scottie Scheffler won his first of back-to-back titles.
The cameras then document Koepka’s 2022 Masters outing, during which he missed the cut after finishing six over for the tournament. Koepka would sign for LIV midway through 2022.

Another star of season one who is now with LIV is Ian Poulter. Out of form, the Englishman’s struggles were evident before he opted to quit the PGA Tour. Full Swing teased Poulter’s LIV intentions towards the end of the episode.
Finally, Dustin Johnson featured in episode five, which documented the lead-up to the US Open at the Country Club. Johnson played the very first LIV event at Centurion and signed a $150m contract with the PIF-backed venture.
