With the LIV Golf season nearing its conclusion, plenty of golf fans will be intrigued to see which players are linked with making the jump ahead of 2026.
There could be a number of changes on LIV Golf ahead of next season. LIV plan to enforce relegation this year as they attempt to secure world ranking points for their events at long last.
Meanwhile, there are 24 players who finished in the Open Zone who potentially have question marks hanging over their futures.
Scott O’Neil admitted signing PGA Tour players is on the table this winter. LIV have also been told they need a marquee signing after focusing their attention on younger players last year.
There is, however, one real problem for LIV when it comes to signing a superstar.
Why LIV Golf will struggle to sign a superstar from the PGA Tour this winter
LIV will enter its fifth season next year. They managed to turn the golfing world upside down with the players they lured away from the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour. It was difficult not to feel that the established tours were in real danger.
As it turns out, the PGA Tour has been able to weather the storm. LIV meanwhile, has struggled to really kick on. With that, it is hard to see which superstar names would be tempted to join LIV when they have not done so already.

Obviously, losing Scottie Scheffler or Rory McIlroy would be devastating for the PGA Tour. And there is a tier of world-class players LIV would be foolish to not have their sights set on. However, LIV surely faces an uphill battle trying to make a signing which would send shockwaves through the sport.
So perhaps it would be fair to say that there is one statement LIV could make which would be more significant than almost any signing they could land.
Bryson DeChambeau extending his contract could be the most significant deal LIV Golf does in the coming months
Bryson DeChambeau has become LIV Golf’s biggest superstar. He is one of only two players to have won a major since making the move. And he is someone who seems to cut through to the mainstream.
DeChambeau’s contract is set to expire at the end of the 2026 season.
There is going to be a lot of interest in seeing what happens when players on LIV see their deals expire. Obviously, if a number of names look to return to the PGA Tour, it will become apparent that not everything on LIV is as perfect as some players make out.
But if DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann end up signing longer contracts, then it will be a real statement of intent.
LIV have been warned that their league will collapse if DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka walk away.
So with the Crushers captain’s deal up next year, LIV would be wise to make sure that talks reach a positive conclusion as soon as possible.
Announcing an extension for DeChambeau would arguably send out a bigger message than any signing LIV could probably make in the coming months.
And perhaps seeing DeChambeau commit his future to the league will, in turn, help convince potential targets for LIV to make the jump.
