Scottie Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, has been discussing the world number one’s Olympic win at Le Golf National.
Scheffler produced a remarkable comeback during the final round to pip Tommy Fleetwood to the gold medal at the 2018 Ryder Cup venue.
Scheffler was emotional when he received his medal, which was the American’s first time representing the United States at the Olympics.
Scott, speaking during Golf’s Subpar Podcast, has now been asked whether he deserved a medal after carrying Scheffler’s bag in the French capital.

Scott started to read greens for Scheffler in Paris after world number one initially struggled with the putting surfaces.
The veteran caddie, however, feels his overall efforts were undeserving of a medal.
“It’s a strange question, but I would feel uncomfortable if they gave me a medal,” Scott explained. “I kind of feel like, yeah, we are part of a team, but if Scottie and I were to stand up there and get medals, I would feel really strange. I definitely think we can help.
“Scottie said some really sweet words to me. In my 25 years of caddying, that was probably the best job I’ve ever done in flipping my guy’s thought process. Even that little bit that helped, I don’t see that I helped enough to receive a medal.”
Ted Scott enjoys remarkable year on Scottie Scheffler’s bag
It’s fair to say Scott has enjoyed himself on Scheffler’s bag in 2024.
Despite not being handed a medal in Paris, Scott has earned over $6 million this season, more than most PGA Tour professionals’ career earnings.
Clearly, being Scheffler’s caddie is one of the best jobs in the game at the moment, but Scott’s influence cannot be understated.
Scheffler consistently lauds Scott’s influence, and the duo are now primed to enjoy more success when the 2025 season rolls around.
