Scottie Scheffler continued his phenomenal success by clinching the FedEx Cup after his win at the Tour Championship.

Scheffler lifted the trophy for the first time following his 30 under final score at the Tour Championship at East Lake.

The world number one now boasts seven wins for the season, which includes the Masters and an Olympic gold medal.

Scheffler now turns his attention to the Presidents Cup, where he is part of the US Team for the tournament.

It gets underway in Montreal later this month, with Scheffler eyeing a Presidents Cup win to continue his stunning year.

What does Steve Stricker think about Tour Championship winner Scottie Scheffler?

Scheffler has simply blown away the competition this year, with his fellow professional Steve Stricker now sharing his thoughts on the world number one.

Speaking at a press conference before the Ascension Charity Classic, Stricker was asked what he saw from Scheffler at the Ryder Cup back in 2021, when the former was Team USA captain.

“Well, I tell the story a lot,” said Stricker. “Nicki was caddieing for me at the PGA Tour Championship earlier in the year when it was at Kiawah Island and we played with Scottie on Saturday or Sunday.

“He was just a wonderful kid to play with, to be around. My wife loved him. Just an all-around great kid, and obviously a great player. At the time he hadn’t won at that point but he was up around the lead a lot. He had the respect of the other guys.

“And it really became kind of a no-brainer of a pick once we started talking about him. You know, he caught my eye and then obviously the guys that were out there all the time playing with him, they knew how good he was or is.

“So it was kind of a no-brainer of a pick. The rest is history, right? He beat Jon Rahm. Obviously gained a ton of confidence from that week. I’ve seen clips of when he talked about that Ryder Cup week, too.

“Means a lot to him. He still carries the yardage book cover for that Ryder Cup. So it meant a lot to him and gave him a ton of confidence. He hasn’t stopped since. Fun to see.”

Scottie Scheffler on very strong US Team at the Presidents Cup

Scheffler stunned world number one Rahm at Whistling Straits in 2021, beating the Spaniard 4&3 in their singles match.

From that moment on the American has enjoyed phenomenal success, which he is desperate to continue in Canada later this month.

Scheffler forms a very strong US Team in Montreal, alongside world number two Xander Schauffele, who has also been in stunning form in 2024.

Team captain Jim Furyk might pair Scheffler with Sam Burns at the Presidents Cup, with the duo having previously partnered at the 2022 event and the 2023 Ryder Cup.

The world number one will still be on a high from his Tour Championship success, but must now swap his individual focus for a team one if Furyk’s men are to come out on top.
