Xander Schauffele is a winner once again on the PGA Tour after seeing off a strong field in Japan to win the Baycurrent Classic in Yokohama.
Schauffele has had a battle on his hands all year and had to fight in Japan too, eventually holding off Max Greyserman by a single shot to win out.
With Schauffele admitting he felt he let Patrick Cantlay down at the Ryder Cup, to pick up a win so soon after will do him the world of good.
Indeed, Schauffele seemed happy with his performance all week long at the Baycurrent and it’s good to see the world number four looking back to his best.
Now, over on social media, popular golf analyst and former PGA Tour winner Smylie Kaufman has given his reaction to Schauffele’s latest win.

Smylie Kaufman reacts as Xander Schauffele wins the Baycurrent Classic
Schauffele is one of the more popular players on the PGA Tour and there’ll be a few out there who are happy to see him back in the winner’s circle.
One of those is Smylie Kaufman, who is a big advocate for how good Schauffele is.
Taking to X to give his reaction to seeing Schauffle had got it over the line, Kaufman was clearly delighted for his friend.

Can Xander Schauffele get back to major winning form in 2026?
It was unfortunate for Xander Schauffele in 2025 that he was struck down by injury and then when he returned, he found Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler in imperious form.
However, he does have the golf game to challenge those two players and on his day, he’s as good as anyone in the world.
Schauffele has played well in Japan, hitting the ball well and making big putts when it mattered.
| Stats | Schauffele’s Baycurrent Classic rank |
| Driving accuracy | T-7 |
| Driving distance | 23 |
| Greens in regulation | T-3 |
| Putts per GIR | T-17 |
| Scrambling | 6 |
The key for him now is to maintain fitness, keep an element of form and then from there, go into 2026 with the attitude he can very much compete with the best.
