Smylie Kaufman has raised concern about part of the course at Bay Hill ahead of the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Arnie’s place has proven a stern test over the first 54 holes, with strong winds, heavy rough and lightning-fast greens testing the field at the fourth Signature Event of 2025.
Scottie Scheffler noted the tricky greens after round one, and Rory McIlroy struggled in the crosswinds. After the free-scoring event at PGA National last week, a tough challenge at Bay Hill was required.
However, could the course be too hard during Sunday’s final round?
Smylie Kaufman concerned about Bay Hill

Golf Channel broadcaster Kaufman took to X after Saturday’s play to highlight the “borderline” putting surfaces.
“I seriously don’t know what they can do about the golf course with these high winds projected tomorrow,” Kaufman said.
“The greens are so borderline already. I expect they won’t cut the greens tomorrow, but I don’t even know if there is any grass to cut.”
Arnold Palmer Invitational: Collin Morikawa eyes first win since 2023
Collin Morikawa is hunting his first win since 2023, and the two-time major winner holds the 54-hole lead at Arnie’s track.
Morikawa is ten under, one shot clear of his USA Presidents Cup teammate Russell Henley. Morikawa made three front-nine birdies before picking up three more shots on the back.
Canadian Corey Conners is two shots back at eight under, and Aussie star Jason Day is seven under after shooting 69 on Saturday.
36-hole leader Shane Lowry had a third round to forget. The Irishman made two double-bogeys on the back nine to tumble down the leaderboard. It was a similar story for Wyndham Clark. The 2023 US Open winner shot 76.
