The Bay Hill Club and Lodge is one of the most well-known courses in the world, thanks to the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The course has been owned by the Arnold Palmer family since 1974 and became home to the iconic tournament five years later (1979).

The event has long been a marquee stop on the PGA Tour circuit, and its reputation only increased with Tiger Woods’ record eight victories.

It’s just not professionals who can enjoy Bay Hill, though, as The Golfing Gazette tells you how much it costs for amateurs to play, as well as other important information.

Courses at Bay Hill

There are 27 holes at Bay Hill across three nine-hole courses: Challenger, Champion, and Charger.

The Challenger and Champion nines combine to make the 18-hole course on which the Arnold Palmer Invitational is played. That course is 7,409 yards long with a par score of 72.

The Charger nine is much shorter than the other two (3,324 yards, par 36). All three nines are tour standard and well worth playing.

How much does it cost to play at Bay Hill?

Bay Hill is a private golf club, which unfortunately means it is not as simple as booking a tee time and showing up at the first tee.

Those interested in playing any of the courses must either be guests of members or, more likely, stay overnight at the lodge.

The price of one night at the lodge typically costs between $250 and $500, depending on the day of the week and the time of year.

For each night at the lodge, guests are entitled to one 18-hole round (Challenger and Champion).

This costs around $100 in the summer months and up to $500 in peak season (January to May), according to GOLF.com. The Charger nine costs less than $100 throughout the year.

Caddies are recommended and cost $100 plus gratuity. Reduced prices are available for two or four players.

Cheaper deals are available online, including packages that include golf and accommodation.

Membership at Bay Hill

The alternative option to knowing a member or booking a stay at the lodge is to become a member at Bay Hill Club and Lodge.

Golf Monthly suggests the initiation fee is around $30,000, with an estimated annual cost of $8,000.

Membership not only includes golf but also other amenities, such as tennis, fishing, the spa, and fitness center.
