Wyndham Clark has endured an up-and-down PGA Tour season to date but is still well-placed heading into next week’s Tour Championship.
Things have improved since Clark’s nightmare Open Championship performance at Royal Troon.
The American currently sits seventh in the FedEx Cup standings and carded a level-par opening round at the BMW Championship, the PGA Tour’s second playoff event.
Despite improvements made – particularly at the Olympics – Sky Sports pundits Nick Dougherty and Andrew Coltart have spotted an issue with Clark’s current performance.

Clark carded two double bogeys during his first round in Denver, with the dropped shots at the par-five 17th particularly damaging.
The American laboured around the testing green, and Dougherty has since claimed Clark gets “jabby” with his pitches on the putting surface.
“He gets so aggressive and jabby with some of the short shots around the green,” said the Sky Sports pundit. “I am not sure he does, but he looks uncomfortable to me.”
Coltart added: “The timing is alright, but under a little bit of pressure, it looks like it could go awry.”
Wyndham Clark needs to replicate his Olympic comeback this week
Clark lauded his Olympic performance in Paris, and the American will need to produce a similar comeback if he’s to compete in Denver this week.
The 2023 US Open champion’s PGA Tour form has been impressive of late, but too often, he’s been left to rue a slow start.
He’s by no means out of contention in Denver, but things would’ve been made a lot easier had he managed to get himself under par on day one at Castle Pines.
If he can solve his short-game problems, there are enough positive signs to suggest Clark can compete at the BMW and next week’s Tour Championship.
