Keegan Bradley has some hugely important decisions lying ahead of him with the Ryder Cup just around the corner.

Bradley could become the first American playing captain at the Ryder Cup since Arnold Palmer performed both roles in 1963.

There are numerous Americans making late charges for the team, with just four PGA Tour events remaining before the six captain’s picks are made.

Chris Gotterup is one man who has thrust himself into Ryder Cup contention, and Bradley would have undoubtedly been really impressed by what he has seen from the 26-year-old over the past few weeks.

Bradley is being urged to pick himself for the Ryder Cup team, and deciding whether or not to do that will be an incredibly tough call for the 39-year-old from Vermont.

Another issue facing the eight-time PGA Tour winner is the fact that so many big-name American players are misfiring right now.

Numerous experienced heads are sitting outside not only the top six automatic qualifying spots, but are not even close to the top 12 either.

One man in particular has been so poor that he claims he would tell Bradley not to pick him right now.

Tony Finau shares what he’d tell Keegan Bradley if the Ryder Cup started today

Tony Finau has experienced a really difficult 2025 season so far on the PGA Tour. He’s currently sitting in 60th spot in the FedEx Cup rankings, so he needs two solid weeks in order to advance to the BMW Championship in a couple of weeks’ time.

Finau’s putting has been a huge problem for him this season, and he is currently ranked as low as 135th in the strokes gained on the greens rankings

Finau, a six-time PGA Tour winner, spoke ahead of the Wyndham Championship on Wednesday and admitted that his form right now is not good enough for him to even be considered for the Ryder Cup.

He said: If the Ryder Cup was today I would tell Keegan make sure you don’t pick me. But the decision is not made today. Why not make a run at the play-offs? That’s the goal, that’s the ultimate goal.

At the moment, it’s one foot in front of the other, as the cliche goes, one shot at a time, that’s all I can do over the next few weeks, just try to play as good golf as I can and see where the chips fall.

That’s what you call incredible honesty from Finau.

It’s clear to see that he will need to win one of the next four tournaments, and perhaps post one or two top-5 finishes as well, if he is to receive a captain’s pick from Bradley for the Ryder Cup in September.

Tony Finau’s 2025 stats on the PGA Tour

Glancing over Finau’s stats, it is easy to see why he has struggled so badly this season.

StatsFinau’s 2025 rank
Strokes gained off the tee117th
Strokes gained approach109th
Strokes gained around the greens35th
Strokes gained putting135th
Strokes gained total110th

Those stats make for pretty grim reading, don’t they?

Finau has to completely turn his game around over the course of the next week or so, if he is to have any chance whatsoever of making the Ryder Cup team.

However, that’s looking highly unlikely for him right now.
