Rory McIlroy has clinched yet another success this season, emerging victorious at the Irish Open via a playoff.
McIlroy’s win has boosted the European Ryder Cup team, who take on America at Bethpage Black later this month.
The Northern Irishman was the first player to qualify for Luke Donald’s side, a handful of whom took on the Irish Open last week.
McIlroy was joined in the field by teammates Shane Lowry and Tyrrell Hatton, but it was The Masters champion who came out on top.
He finished level with Joakim Lagergren on 17-under at The K Club, but finally triumphed after three playoff holes.

Lowry had mixed feelings about his Irish Open, where the home favourite finished T15 in the leaderboard on seven-under.
But he still thoroughly enjoyed his week on home soil, posting on Instagram: “I always say it… the Amgen Irish Open is one of the best tournaments in the world.

Lagergren had a fine chance to cause a real upset in Kildare, but fell short of clinching his second win on the DP World Tour.
But all the attention is unsurprisingly on McIlroy, who is now a 20-time champion on the DP World Tour, and a two-time Irish Open winner.

He received huge support throughout the entire tournament, with the noise for his eagle putt on the 18th simply reaching another level.
McIlroy was under pressure to deliver in front of those hopeful supporters, with that pressure raised given he was seeking a first success since winning The Masters.
He also secured the career grand slam at Augusta National, but simply thrived under the pressure to deliver an unforgettable moment for his followers.
His playoff performance also further demonstrated his calmness and composure, with McIlroy winning The Masters and the Players Championship this season in the same fashion.
