Team Europe have just claimed a memorable Ryder Cup success against the USA, winning the event 15-13 at Bethpage Black.

American captain Keegan Bradley has been criticized following his sideโ€™s defeat, which arrived in front of their own fans in New York.

European captain Luke Donald commiserated with Bradley, with the Englishman having now guided his side to back-to-back victories at the Ryder Cup.

It represents their fifth away Ryder Cup win, following the memorable triumphs from 1987, 1995, 2004 and 2012.

But it finished much closer than anyone expected at Bethpage Black, with the USA winning the singles session 8.5-3.5 to give Europe a major scare.

That scare was indeed referenced by Ryder Cup legend Sergio Garcia, who took to social media to celebrate his former sideโ€™s success.

He wrote on X: โ€œWow, Wow, Wow! Big Congratulations to [the European Ryder Cup team] but what an amazing fight from [the USA Ryder Cup team].โ€

Also messaging the current group was another former legendary Ryder Cup figure, with Ian Poulter writing on X: โ€œWhat a win in the hardest of places.

โ€œHuge congratulations to [the European Ryder Cup team] and Luke Donald and the team. Amazing golf under those conditions.โ€

Which European players really impressed under Luke Donald at Bethpage Black?

Garcia and Poulter know exactly how their fellow Europeans will be feeling right now, having previously enjoyed fantastic success at the Ryder Cup.

Poulter has played down his Ryder Cup legacy, but the Englishman has won the event five times, with 16 points to his name.

Garcia meanwhile sits atop the all-time Ryder Cup points list with 28.5, having helped Europe to six titles throughout his career so far.

Donald opted against picking Garcia, but his fellow Spaniard Jon Rahm was among the European heroes at Bethpage Black, earning three points for the visitors.

That total placed him third on the list thanks to particularly stunning displays from a handful of Donaldโ€™s men, led by Tommy Fleetwood.

He won four points from his five matches, while Rory McIlroy and Rahmโ€™s LIV Golf teammate Tyrrell Hatton each clinched 3.5 points.
