Scottie Scheffler is the main man in golf right now and it’s not even in doubt.
Scheffler is the world number one by the OWGR and even beyond those stats, he is clearly playing golf on a different level to most players in the world right now.
The popular American has been on fire already on the PGA Tour this season. Scheffler won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in early March, before following that win up by succeeding at The Players a week later.
For Scheffler, the focus is now on winning the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
The 27-year-old has already finished his first round. And it’s looking ominous again, with Scheffler already five under par, albeit not quite leading.

Scheffler’s form is frightening all things considered. And his five-under today was all the more remarkable considering the preparation he revealed he’d had this week.

Speaking in the press conference ahead of his opening round today, Scheffler revealed how his week had gone.
And in a remarkable turn of events given the round he’s posted today, Scheffler revealed he’s barely even got out to practice over the last seven days.
“I had a good rest week at home last week. I was worn out after Bay Hill and the Players and it was nice to get home and relax. I didn’t do nearly as much practice as I typically would in the last week, so I’m coming in and shaking off a bit of rust in the last few days, but my game feels like it’s in a good spot so I feel rested and ready to go,” Scheffler said.
Scottie Scheffler’s form over the last two years
Laura Davies tipped Scheffler to potentially win every major this year, while Rich Beem has said he is doing something not even Tiger Woods was doing in his prime.
Right now, Scottie Scheffler seems unstoppable and it’s quite a scary thought for the rest of the field with the Masters just two weeks away.
Scheffler’s form since 2022 is quite unbelievable, even just in terms of wins.
He’s won eight times since winning the Waste Management Open in February 2022, including picking up his first green jacket at Augusta that year.
He retained his WM Open title in 2023, then won by five strokes to win his first Players title. Add to that he took Jon Rahm all the way and shared a point at the Ryder Cup, and it’s been quite a few years.
Scheffler, then, is going to take some stopping this year.
