Scottie Scheffler has summarised his final round at the St Jude Championship after finishing fourth in the FedExCup Playoff event.
Scheffler had a moment of rage at the St Jude Championship as he finished on 14 under, three shots behind winner Hideki Matsuyama.
The American carded a final round to finish on 17 under, two ahead of Xander Schauffele and Viktor Hovland.
Scheffler said the final round would be tough for Matsuyama, and he wasn’t wrong, with the latter blowing a five-shot lead.
But the Japanese star recovered with birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to clinch top spot and the St Jude Championship title.

Schauffele shot up the standings with a final round 63, putting real pressure on Matsuyama, but the latter managed to hold on.
Scheffler meanwhile wasn’t paying attention to matters elsewhere, having done his utmost to claim yet anothe title.
“I didn’t really see any of that,” said Scheffler, as per TenGolf. “I just know how difficult it is to close on that golf course.
“There’s a lot of water. It’s kind of like Sawgrass, where you can’t really totally play it safe the whole time. It can be a difficult course to close on.
“I tried to move my way up the leaderboard but wasn’t able to do it. Really on the back nine I wasn’t able to give myself enough opportunities, I felt like.”
Scottie Scheffler remains top ahead of BMW Championship
Scheffler finished the event with a 66, having started with the same score in his first round, with a 65 and 69 coming in between.
The world number one started the first FedExCup Playoff event in first place, and now turns his attention to the BMW Championship.
Having taken on TPC Southwind in Memphis, Scheffler is among the 50 players now heading to Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado.
Matsuyama has climbed to third place in the FedExCup points list following his victory, with Hovland rising to 16th after his impressive display.
It is, however, Scheffler and Schauffele who remain well in front at this stage, with the former in first and the latter in second.
