Scottie Scheffler secured another point for Team USA at the Presidents Cup alongside Collin Morikawa in the four-balls but he was quick to pay tribute to his partner despite making two late birdies to seal the point.
Scheffler holed out twice in succession on the last few holes to seal a win over Taylor Pendrith and Adam Scott and ensure a big red point for Team USA.
The world number one is the talisman for Jim Furyk’s man and it was Scheffler who put up the most fight in yesterday’s whitewash by the Internationals.
Of course, there was to be no repeat today as Scheffler and Morikawa worked well together to win.

However, Scheffler was quick to point out the role of Morikawa in the win as well.
After Scheffler had found water on 15, Morikawa scrambled for a par before Pendrith and Scott both missed birdie putts.
The par from Morikawa proved huge and Scheffler, ever the classy player, made sure Morikawa got his flowers.

Speaking to Sky immediately after securing a point for Team USA, Scheffler was quick to praise his teammate Morikawa for what he did on 15.
“The captain installed some confidence in me and Collin to go out there and get a point,” Scheffler said.
“It wasn’t pretty out there today but we did what we had to do to get a point and that’s the most important [thing[.
“For Collin to step up on 15 was huge for our team and gave us confidence to go down the stretch.”

Scheffler is going to be crucial for Team USA as they continue to look to pull away in the foursomes this evening.
Scheffler will once again pair with Russell Henley as Jim Furyk keeps faith the pairing who did so well on day one.
