Scottie Scheffler has shed light on the work he’s been doing behind the scenes with Phil Kenyon ahead of the Travelers Championship this week.
The world number one is the headline name ahead of this week’s event at TPC River Highlands as he looks to bounce back from his disappointing outing at the US Open.
Scheffler looked unsettled on Pinehurst’s tricky set-up and will be hoping for an improved performance on a more traditional PGA Tour course this week.
Scottie Scheffler shares the latest on Phil Kenyon

Scheffler’s work with putting guru Kenyon has been well-documented after the American praised the Englishman after his 2024 Masters win.
And speaking ahead of the Travelers this week, the 27-year-old has reiterated his desire to remain as athletic as possible.
“I’d say continuing a lot of those feels,” said Scheffler. “The process is always ongoing, so we are always trying to get a little bit better. I think with the stuff we are working on, there is always room for improvement.”
He added: “Most of it is just working on getting the right picture in my head and being as athletic as possible, so I would say we are just continuing to fine-tune and find better ways to work on what we originally worked on.”
What Scottie Scheffler said about Phil Kenyon after Masters win
After sealing his second Masters title in April, Scheffler immediately spoke of Kenyon’s influence.
“I had watched Phil before and watched him coach players. When you’re out here as long as I’ve been, I just see stuff, and I loved the way Phil coached his players,” he said.
“As I watched Phil, I could tell that he was open-minded, and that’s the type of people I like to work with. And we kind of hit the ground running in the fall.”
Scheffler’s decision to enlist Kenyon’s help has been rewarded. His performance on the greens this season has arguably been the main reason behind his success.
The world number one is able to appropriately capitalise on his pinpoint approach play rather than squander numerous birdie opportunities.
With the American still working and looking to improve with Kenyon, the chasing pack could be in for a challenging task for the remainder of the 2024.
