Scottie Scheffler once again proved why he is the best golfer in the world at this moment in time with his superb win at The Open Championship.
Scheffler has been compared to Tiger Woods after his success at The Open, where he defeated Harris English by four shots.
It represents his second major win of the season and fourth PGA Tour win of the season, and has helped Scheffler maintain his world number one ranking.
Dame Laura Davies thinks Scheffler completes the career grand slam soon after witnessing his display at Royal Portrush, with only the US Open remaining.
Intriguingly, the four-time major champion could join the exclusive list of grand slam winners on his 30th birthday at Shinnecock Hills next year.

Scottie Scheffler problem declared after his win at The Open
He has quickly etched his name into golfing folklore with his achievements, but Dan Patrick has declared a problem for the American after his win at The Open.
Speaking on the Dan Patrick Show, he said: “This isn’t about his greatness but this is the personality attached to his greatness.
“This has happened before. The Spurs were labelled boring because Tim Duncan played a boring brand of basketball.

“Pete Sampras didn’t really have a personality, he was the face and focal point of men’s tennis. Mike Trout for a long time in baseball, boy he’s so great but…
“So this is what we are asking for. Growing up in a different generation, if you are of similar age, we did not ask that of our celebrities. We did not ask that of our athletes, it was like they do something really well and we appreciate that.
“Times have changed. Now you have got to sell the sport and a lot of times these athletes are selling themselves or a product.
“There is a lot more involved in this. This will sound like we are denigrating Scottie Scheffler and we are not. We are just stating the facts.
“He plays a very impressive game of golf. But we have gotten used to Tiger Woods. Well, Tiger was not an interesting personality, his interviews weren’t very good.

“He just played in a way and a style that we had never seen before. It was like oh my gosh, did you see that? And he started at age two, when he was on the Mike Douglas Show.
“We had watched him grow up right in front of us and then all of a sudden you are watching him dominate the sport.
“He dominated it in a way that we had not seen since Jack Nicklaus. Nobody ever said has Jack Nicklaus got a good personality when he was dominating.
“Arnold Palmer had a great personality, but he was not the golfer Nicklaus was. Tom Watson, great golfer, but I don’t know if anybody said what about his personality?
“It’s different now because social media and how you are selling. I’m watching Scottie Scheffler and he just is methodical. This is what he does and nothing is changing. This is the way he is going to play, and this is who he is.”
Scottie Scheffler’s stunning PGA Tour wins list after success at The Open
Scheffler simply won’t care what is being said or written about him and his approach to golf, and nor should he.
He has been dialled in on and indeed off the course for the last few years, with his approach working wonders.

Scheffler is now a four-time major champion after conquering Royal Portrush, and 17-time winner on the PGA Tour.
And while he has drawn comparisons to legendary figure Woods, he is his own person, and doesn’t look like changing his mentality.

The American’s mental strength is admirable, which unfortunately for the rest of the PGA Tour has made him an even better golfer.
Whether or not someone can challenge his reign remains to be seen, but one certainty is that he is head and shoulders above the rest of the field right now.
