Scottie Scheffler has shed light on what his relationship with Collin Morikawa is actually like ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Scheffler has been practicing alongside the 2021 Open winner and Xander Schauffele ahead of Thursday’s first round at Le Golf National.
It’s the world number one’s first visit to the Ryder Cup venue, and Scheffler has been advised by his caddie, Ted Scott, who was part of the USA Team in 2018.
Despite Scheffler being part of a four-man team that also includes Morikawa, Schauffele, and Wyndham Clark, each player will be seeking individual success in Paris.
Scottie Scheffler sheds light on Collin Morikawa relationship

With Scheffler set to go head-to-head against his USA teammates this week, the 28-year-old has shed light on his relationship after the pair previously competed in junior golf together.
Scheffler said: “Yeah, we’ve known each other for years, like Collin and I go pretty far back, all the way to junior golf. We were all part of the Ryder Cup last year and we’re pretty close friends, and we’ll play all our practice rounds together this week. We went out today and had a good game.”
The world number one went on to claim the team’s camaraderie is positive ahead of the event.
“Those guys were all together this week,” Scheffler added. “I took some time away with just my family, but it should be a fun week. Team camaraderie is always good. We get along really well and had some fun. I think we are all just really excited to represent our country and looking for a medal.”
USA clearly the huge favourites at Le Golf National
With Schauffele and Scheffler in the form of their life, it’s hard to look past the USA at Le Golf National. Even Morikawa stands an excellent chance of getting his hands on a medal should he perform to somewhere near his best.
Rory McIlroy will be hoping to get his season back on track in Paris. The Northern Irishman has endured a tough week at The Open Championship and has been spotted practicing at St Andrews ahead of making the trip to the French capital.
Australia will also harbour Olympic hope at Le Golf National, with Min Woo Lee and Jason Day looking to challenge the American quartet.
Team GB’s Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick are tasked with adding another medal to the record books after Justin Rose secured a gold at Rio 2016.
