Scottie Scheffler continued his delayed start to the season with another impressive display, finishing T3 at the Genesis Invitational.
Scheffler is trying to stay patient with himself, having now made three PGA Tour starts in 2025 after undergoing hand surgery.
World number one Scheffler went on an unwanted bogey run in round three of the Genesis Invitational, where Ludvig Aberg emerged victorious.
Aberg now has two PGA Tour wins to his name, having edged out Maverick McNealy by one shot at Torrey Pines.
The Swede finished on 12-under, with Scheffler finishing T3 with fellow American Patrick Rodgers on nine-under.

Ryan Lavner ‘not at all’ worried about Scottie Scheffler after Genesis Invitational
In a roller-coaster tournament, Scheffler carded rounds of 70, 67, 76 and 66 at the iconic Californian venue.
Sharing his verdict on the 13-time PGA Tour champion, Ryan Lavner said on the Golf Channel podcast with Rex & Lav: “I think Scottie is probably still a little bit rusty.
“He talked about the time off and how that sort of derailed the progress and progression he had made during his game.
“What he likes to do during the off-season, it feels like he is trying to make up for lost time now. Preaching patience even though he has high expectations for himself. I think it is pretty clear he is still rusty and still doesn’t have his game right where he wants it.
“Just 53% fairways hit over the weekend at Torrey Pines, lost strokes with his approach play in two of the four rounds, the 76 on Saturday was his worst score on the PGA Tour in three years.
“I think the T3 finish at the Genesis is testament to his incredible scrambling, his resilience, the attitude flip that he made from Saturday to Sunday.
“I am not at all concerned as we head to the Florida swing for Scottie Scheffler. Keep in mind this is the exact same stretch he had last year where he had not notched a victory, all he did once he hit Florida was go 1, 1, 2, 1, 1 in his next five starts.”
Scottie Scheffler scoring breakdown in T3 Genesis Invitational finish
There is undoubtedly no need to be worried about Scheffler whatsoever, who is certain to return to his lethal best in the very near future.
He won a stunning seven PGA Tour titles in 2024, and while he may not reach that tally this time around, plenty of success is on the cards.
And that should worry those around him, who will be fully aware that a real charge is now very likely incoming.
Scheffler still managed to really impress despite Aberg coming out on top at Torrey Pines, with the former ranking second for SG: Around The Green and scrambling, with figures of 4.755 and 75.00% (18/24) respectively.
