Robert MacIntyre is competing on home soil at this week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The DP World Tour pro-am is one of the most lucrative events on the circuit, and three of Scotland’s iconic courses are used: Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, and the Old Course at St Andrews.
MacIntyre won the Scottish Open earlier this year, and the 28-year-old is looking for a second hometown victory this week, playing alongside his dad.
Before Thursday’s opening round, MacIntyre spoke to the media, and the Scot lauded one of this week’s courses.
Robert MacIntyre loves Kingsbarns ahead of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

The Scot was asked about the venues set to host the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, and MacIntyre was quick to heap praise on Kingsbarns.
“Kingsbarns is probably one of my favourite courses in the world. It’s somewhere I could play almost every day,” MacIntyre told the DP World Tour.
“It’s just picturesque, and you can play it in so many different ways. Obviously, the weather can be completely different day to day, but the three courses match well.”
How much it costs to play Kingsbarns
Kingsbarns is located just to the south of St Andrews, around seven miles away and a drive of around 13 minutes.
Given the excessive pricing of green fees in 2024, it’s no surprise to see Kingsbarns charge £418 for an 18-hole round. However, if players wish to play another round within seven days, the price drops to around the £250 mark.
Juniors can play the course for £90, providing they’re under the age of 18, and PGA professionals are welcome for £100.
Caddies are available for £65, and those who require clubs can hire a Taylormade set for £40.
