There has been plenty of talk about the New York crowds that will greet Team USA and Europe at the 2025 Ryder Cup.
Tickets for the Bethpage Black event were quickly snapped up despite weekend day passes costing more than $750. Approximately 2,500 European fans are expected to travel to Long Island next September.
However, the visiting fans could be drowned out in the raucous atmosphere in New York. Keegan Bradley expects strong partisan support, and after Patrick Cantlay’s ridicule in Rome, Luke Donald’s Europe could be set for a frosty reception.
New Yorkers are known for their passion, and Rickie Fowler is the latest player to say what he thinks of the support from The Empire State.
Rickie Fowler drops verdict on New York fans

Fowler will represent New York Golf Club in the TGL, and the American admitted he’s readying himself for criticism if he doesn’t play well.
The Interviewer asked: “You are playing for New York. New York fans will boo you, though, if you don’t play well.”
Fowler replied: “100%! We have one local New Yorker on the team. The other three of us are hoping to earn some respect from the New York fans. The New York fans, luckily, have always been great to me, I have always had great fans in New York. But they like to win.”

Keegan Bradley sends warning to USA fans ahead of Ryder Cup
European players will be able to contend with a bit of banter with the home fans at Bethpage. But it’s important to remember that the Cantlay incident was largely jovial, and the fans in Rome didn’t overstep the mark.
It’s vital that those present at Bethpage also consider the boundaries, and a repeat of the 1999 Brookline Ryder Cup mustn’t occur. Twenty-five years ago, Colin Montgomerie and several members of Team Europe faced intense abuse from the Boston crowd; even Tiger Woods was disgusted.

Thankfully, Bradley has issued a warning to anyone looking to push the limits of what’s acceptable.
“The PGA of America has things in place for each group to monitor the situation, and if you act inappropriately, you’re going to be asked to leave the tournament,” the USA captain told BBC Sport.
“I hope and expect the fans will respect what the guys are doing but also at the same time be lively and supporting our team.”
