Rickie Fowler has revealed what improved within his game during last week’s Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.
The six-time PGA Tour winner finished on 13 under, nine shots back of leaders Tom Kim and Scottie Scheffler.
Despite placing tied for 20th, there were positives for the 35-year-old after he missed the cut at the US Open.
In fact, his outing at the last signature event of the season represented his second-highest finish of the year, with his best performance coming during the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town.
Rickie Fowler makes admission about his game ahead of the Rocket Mortgage Classic

Fowler is now in Detroit as he looks to defend his Rocket Mortgage Classic title – and the 35-year-old feels his game is slowly improving.
“I think a big part of freeing myself up and allowing myself to play better golf starts on the greens,” he explained. It helps when I am making putts. Last week, we started to see that, but not that ball striking was good by any means.”
Fowler added: “I feel like when I am putting at least up to my standards or average, at least it frees up the rest of the game. So looking forward to leaning on the putter a bit more going forward.”
FedEx Cup points now required

Currently, Fowler sits outside the top 70 in the race for the FedEx Cup, meaning his season will fall short of the play-offs.
With several big names not competing in Detroit, the American must grab the opportunity with both hands.
Another impressive finish, or victory, would put Fowler right back on track to make the Tour Championship.
Two other high-profile names set to tee it up this week are Kim and Min Woo Lee. Kim is looking to bounce back from his Travelers Championship heartache last week, and Woo Lee is also looking to strengthen his FedEx Cup position.
