Golf journalist Rex Hoggard has made a prediction about Bryson DeChambeau heading into Masters weekend.

Bryson DeChambeau is in an incredibly strong position heading into the weekend at The Masters.

He is currently sitting in second place on seven-under par, one shot behind the leader Justin Rose.

Bryson DeChambeau was in fine spirits heading into The Masters, and that positive attitude has shone through loud and clear during the first two days at Augusta National.

DeChambeau is a box office superstar in the game. His style of play is enthralling to watch, and the same can be said about his online content.

He has really managed to turn around the public’s opinion of him over the past year or so.

And a win at The Masters would elevate DeChambeau’s standing in the game even more.

Rex Hoggard says Bryson DeChambeau could do something rare over Masters weekend

The Liv Golf star’s game looks to be in great shape right now.

He proved last year at the U.S Open that his swing is more than good enough to hold up under the most severe pressure.

And now he will be hoping to win his third Major Championship, with two rounds left to play at Augusta National.

The long-hitting American has overpowered Augusta National during the first two days.

He leads the driving distance stats at The Masters after day two, with an impressive average of 331 yards of the tee – 15 yards ahead of second placed Rory McIlroy (Masters website).

DeChambeau is like no other golfer in the world – a unique player who has become a trailblazing pioneer for the sport.

When speaking on The Golf Podcast with rex and Lav, Rex Hoggard shared how Bryson is capable of overpowering Augusta National like nobody has ever been able to do before:

“They have a tracker on every shot that is hit on the practice area. Since he got here on Tuesday, 874 shots on the range. Bryson is still the mad scientist. I still love what he is because he’s so different from the norm. That 874 number by the way blows away second place by a long shot, it’s not even close.

You look at this specific test, it baffles him. His mind is spinning and he’s trying to figure it out. It’s such a game, and it’s so exciting. The one player I’m most excited about on that entire leaderboard, the one I’m really excited to see is Bryson, because he could go either way really quickly. If the math doesn’t start adding up and the wind starts swirling, he could go sideways real quick. Or he could overpower this golf course. Very rarely do we say that, since they ‘Tiger-proofed’ it, this golf course could be overpowered. It could be if he continues down this path.”

Bryson DeChambeau says he did something unbelievable on day two at The Masters

The 31-year-old American even surprised himself by something spectacular he did around Augusta National on Friday.

DeChambeau admitted that he shocked himself after his incredible up and down on the 10th hole, when speaking to reporters after his round on Friday:

That was huge on 18, I didn’t want to three-putt twice. 16 and 18, if I would have bogied those two holes, that would have been frustrating for me.

I made a couple of huge par saves, number 10 was unbelievable, how I got that up and down, I don’t even know how.

I felt like today was a bit of a grind with that wind, I felt like i was hitting it a lot better. The ball just got into a couple of weird places, and didn’t go in the hole a few times but I made it when it counted.

Bryson DeChambeau is an absolutely superstar in the game, and The Masters leaderboard is better off for having him up there challenging.
