Jon Rahm has revealed one thing that he absolutely loves about LIV Golf Adelaide ahead of this week’s event.

The Saudi-backed league heads Down Under in what has proven to be one of the most popular stops since the tour’s inception.

LIV has gone big on the marketing campaign ahead of the event, with the PIF venture facing very little in the way of criticism in the country’s southernmost state.

Rahm is competing in his first LIV Golf Adelaide event and has opened up about one thing that’s caught his eye.

In an exclusive interview with Australian Golf Digest, Rahm was quizzed on his favourite tournaments.

“I’d say Valderrama is 1a and Adelaide is 1b. Obviously, going home [to Spain] is always special, but I’ve heard so many good things about LIV Golf Adelaide,” he said.

Rahm went on to highlight the party hole (12th), suggesting LIV’s attempt to recreate the 16th TPC Scottsdale is “really special”.

“I watched some of the broadcast last year and the course looked incredible,” he added.

“And the atmosphere… well, what can you say about that? The party hole (12th hole) looked amazing. It’s not easy to replicate the most spectacular holes in golf, and LIV Golf did it on their first attempt, which was pretty special.”

LIV Golf Adelaide takes centre stage this week

The premise of LIV Golf centres around the world’s best players playing less but being paid more, and it feels like this week could be an important one for the brand.

Considering the alarming drop in viewers at The Masters, the event down under could be an opportunity to gain further traction. Talks between the PGA Tour and LIV appear to be heading nowhere; more harm is being done than good.

For the sake of the global game, Jay Monahan needs to be open and honest about the current situation.

After the alarming viewing figures at Augusta, something must change ahead of the PGA Championship at Valhalla.
