We won’t be seeing Tiger Woods anytime soon on a golf course after the 15-time major winner confirmed he’s undergone yet more surgery.
Woods has been missing from action since suffering an Achilles injury earlier in 2025. It ruled him out of much of the TGL and put fresh doubt into whether we’d ever see him on the PGA Tour again.
With the TGL’s second season approaching in December, many were hoping to see Woods back in the thick of things.
However, in more devastating news, Woods has taken to social media to confirm he’s undergone yet more back surgery.
Now, after hearing the news, Phil Mickelson has given his reaction.

Phil Mickelson reacts to Tiger Woods’ latest injury setback
Despite not being on the PGA Tour anymore, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods have done battle enough times over the years to develop a big respect.
Indeed, after seeing the news on Tiger, Mickelson has now posted on X to send his thoughts Tiger’s way.
“I’m sorry to hear this and I wish him the best for a speedy recovery,” Mickelson wrote on X.
With Woods approaching the age of 50 and being eligible for the Champions Tour, this may well spell the end of his PGA Tour career.
Woods has been plagued with back injuries his whole career and now, this is just another setback that he could do without.
Tiger Woods could finally be done
There is no indication from Tiger’s statement that he is downing tools but on the flipside, there is no suggestion within it that he is working to get back either.
Having a disc replacement is a big deal and the recovery for Woods is going to be arduous and tough.
Add it to the mix with all the other surgeries he’s had over the years, and it looks like we might finally be approaching the end of the Tiger Woods era.
| Tiger Woods’ surgeries since 2008 | |
