Phil Mickelson gives his opinion on Bryson DeChambeau’s Youtube channel and explains what he’s now trying to do

Bryson DeChambeau’s YouTube channel is one of golf’s hot topics after the LIV Golf star collaborated with former President Donald Trump.

DeChambeau’s video raised a significant amount for charity and helped the 30-year-old breach the one million subscriber barrier.

LIV star DeChambeau is now set to try and break 50 with John Daly after the duo exchanged messages on X.

Phil Mickelson has also tried to break into the social media space and recently filmed a video with YouTube sensation Grant Horvat.

The lefty has now shared his thoughts on DeChambeau’s online presence.

Mickelson has featured on DeChambeau’s YouTube previously. The pair actually played a match at Greenbrier last year, the home of LIV’s next event.

The six-time major champion has admitted he’s learning as he goes about the YouTube world and is inspired by DeChambeau’s “phenomenal” work.

“Well, I’m very new to this, and YouTube isn’t really the world I grew up in,” Mickelson told Golf. “I’m kind of learning a lot from Bryson, who’s really spearheaded a phenomenal campaign on YouTube and a great following, and I’m trying to learn as we go.”

Of course, some strongly oppose DeChambeau and Mickelson’s moves to LIV Golf and, subsequently, anything the duo have done from that point onwards.

But, shifting their controversial move to one side, it’s hard not to like what the pair are doing. DeChambeau’s video with Trump undoubtedly attracted new fans to the sport.

Ultimately, golf needs interest for the sport to grow over the coming years. Clearly, the dynamic is changing. Traditional TV will soon become a thing of the past, with people now looking for entertainment on YouTube and other social media platforms. They’re user-friendly, accessible, and, more importantly, free.

DeChambeau really has delved into the space, and the sooner the rest of the golfing world takes note, the better.
