Rick Shiels and Peter Finch have played a lot of golf together in recent weeks as the YouTube scene continues to boom.
The English duo participated in Seb on Golf’s Invitational at Fairmont St Andrews before heading to South Carolina to film a week’s worth of content with the Bryan Bros, Grant Horvat and Fat Perez.
During their stateside trip, Shiels and Finch were involved in a $100k skins game; Shiels walked away $45,000 richer.
In addition to filming with fellow YouTube stars, Shiels and Finch competed against each other in two matches. Shiels won the first match at Fairmont before the second was halved at Dumbarnie Golf Links.
After failing to beat Shiels, Finch has now shared what was incredibly frustrating about playing against his compatriot.
Peter Finch shares what’s ‘really’ annoying about Rick Shiels game

Talking on the latest edition of the Rough Cut Podcast, Finch admitted that Shiels’ ability to get up and down during their contests was particularly annoying.
“I have to say. And this isn’t me being negative about your game in the past,” Finch said.
“When you were missing greens [in recent Shiels v Finch matches] during those matches, I was like, ‘Okay, I’ve got a chance to win this hole’. But you consistently really annoyed me and hit good shots.”
What Rick Shiels has said about his golf game
Anyone who’s watched Shiels’ recent videos will be aware of the giant strides he’s made with his putting and iron play.
Previously, the Englishman would card at least one or two ‘blow up’ holes a round. Now, Shiels appears to be far more consistent and able to avoid any major mistakes.
During the latest Rick Shiels Major at Solina, the Englishman and Horvat carded nine under between them and beat Wesley and George Bryan in the process.
Speaking about his game, also in the Rough Cut Podcast, Shiels said: “I think my putting is the best it has ever been in my life. My iron play is outrageous at the moment. It’s the best it’s genuinely ever been. Short game has improved vastly. Driving is so, so. Just feel content.”
