Golf YouTuber Peter Finch has issued his strong verdict on reports that Tyrrell Hatton is about to become the latest big name to make the move to LIV Golf.
With the first LIV event of the season looming this week, it appears that clarity on exactly who will follow Jon Rahm to the Saudi-backed tour is just around the corner.
Adrian Meronk is set to make the jump. And reports last week claimed that Tyrrell Hatton is about to receive £50 million to turn his back on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
Tyrrell Hatton about to join LIV Golf
Tyrrell Hatton is expected to join Rahm’s new team despite initially looking set to play at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on the PGA Tour this week.

With Rahm reportedly receiving £450 million for the move, the cost of persuading Hatton may appear to some to be fairly low.
And speaking on the Rough Cut Golf Podcast, Peter Finch suggested that Hatton’s fee seeming low just highlights what a mess the game is now in.
“That is the problem. This is what golf has descended into. He is being given £50 million. And we’re all shrugging our shoulders going, ‘is that appropriate? It’s not that much, is he worth that?’ It’s £50 million! To a golfer to join a tour that nobody’s watching, and everybody’s acting like this is normal,” he said.
PIF here to stay in the sport
The problem is that PIF seem to have an endless amount of money. So they can just keep throwing figures at the world’s best players in the hope that they will eventually sign up.
Some have dug their heels in. Tommy Fleetwood has rejected an offer from LIV. Meanwhile, Viktor Hovland has denied reports that he will be going.
But if more and more of the best leave, then more are going to change their minds.
There is so much uncertainty surrounding the sport right now, so it is hard to know where exactly this will all end up.
But there is absolutely no question that the Saudis are strengthening their grip on a seat at the top table in golf. And they have the resources to make their position even stronger.
