A source close to Tommy Fleetwood has shared how much consideration he is giving to the prospect of defecting to LIV Golf after turning down an approach from the breakaway tour.
The DP World Tour appear to have received a big boost in their fight to keep some of their biggest names, with The Telegraph reporting that both Tommy Fleetwood and Nicolai Hojgaard have rejected offers from LIV.
There remains a question mark over Tyrrell Hatton’s future. And of course, if the last couple of years have taught us anything, it is that players’ stances can change dramatically.
Tommy Fleetwood not interested in LIV move
Jon Rahm left for LIV towards the end of last year. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy has softened his stance on whether LIV should have a role in the game’s future.

But it seems that we should not be expecting any dramatic u-turns from Fleetwood, at least for the time-being.
According to a report from The Times, a source close to the 33-year-old has claimed that he has ‘no interest’ in a move. The report added that there are now further names who have turned down the chance to sign for the PIF-backed tour.
Golf learning to never say never
It does feel as though we will eventually end up in a place where golfers going to play on the LIV tour becomes less newsworthy. Talks are continuing over a deal involving the likes of the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and the Saudis.
Rahm’s move was a big one. McIlroy has already noted that he has to be eligible to qualify for the 2025 Ryder Cup. And that feeling will only get stronger if Hatton goes also.
If that pathway does open up, there will be greater temptation for others to make the move.
It is not clear whether Fleetwood would be one of those who reconsiders. But if compromises are made between the tours, you would imagine that LIV will at least have another go at trying to entice the Englishman.
