Ludvig Aberg continues his search for a maiden major championship win at the US Open this week, which is taking place at Oakmont.
Aberg has been backed for US Open contention, but he started off with a two-over 72 on Friday in Pennsylvania.
Two-time PGA Tour champion Aberg says Oakmont has forced him to change technique ahead of the US Open, the third major championship of 2025.
Aberg finished seventh at The Masters at Augusta National, but failed to make the cut at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.
He has already won on the PGA Tour this season, with the Swede having emerged victorious at The Genesis Invitational.

Paul McGinley suggests why Ludvig Aberg makes ‘big mistakes’ during US Open round two
But Paul McGinley shared a concern with the 25-year-old during his second round of the US Open at Oakmont.
He said of the Swede on Sky Sports Golf: “He’s got a propensity of making big mistakes, doubles, triples, quads.
“He’s still very inexperienced, only two years as a professional but those mistakes do come. He plays so fast.”

Paul McGinley notices ‘interesting’ scenario in second round of the US Open
McGinley also shared his verdict on Oakmont during the second round, having noticed an intriguing scenario playing out on Friday.
He wrote on X: “With scoring on the front 9 3 shots tougher than the back 9 it’s interesting how many of this morning’s good scores have come from players starting on 10, getting some early birdies as well as momentum before facing the challenge of the back 9.”

Aberg is, of course, still learning on the course, with plenty of success enjoyed in his relatively brief career so far.
He is currently taking on just his second US Open, having finished T12 on debut last year after finishing second on his debut at The Masters.
Whether or not he needs to slow down is perhaps a debate for a different day, with Aberg undoubtedly one of the faster players on the PGA Tour.
Such a rapid approach has helped him enjoy further success this season, although he does have three missed cuts to his name from his 13 appearances in 2025.
