Patrick Reed is playing in the Hong Kong Open on the International Series alongside many other LIV golfers this week.

The International Series is part of the Asian Tour and is affiliated with the LIV Golf league.

The events are popular with LIV players because world ranking points are available, as well as exemptions to The Masters and The Open.

Reed won the tournament in Hong Kong by three strokes last year, so he will be looking to repeat this week.

Before the event started on Thursday morning, Reed shared his thoughts on his golf game at the moment.

Patrick Reed shares update on his game at Hong Kong Open

Reed has been busy playing all around the world since the 2025 LIV Golf season ended at the Team Championship in August.

He competed in the Irish Open, the BMW PGA Championship, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, and the Spanish Open before traveling to Asia.

Reed then played in the International Series Philippines last week, finishing tied for 20th, so he is in decent form.

“Game feels pretty good, it doesn’t really feel much different [from last year],” he told the LIV Golf website.

“I feel like the difference now, compared with those events earlier this year, is that I was making putts. And it seems like these past couple of events, it’s been a bunch of putts I’ve just kind of lipped out and burned edges.

“And when you win golf tournaments and you finish up really high, instead of lipping out, they seem to lip in. So no, the golf game feels like it’s in a pretty good spot. Just need to kind of reset.

“I feel confident where the game is. Just need to go out and execute. And really just kind of pull those vibes from last time I was in Hong Kong.”

The best LIV Golfers in the Hong Kong Open field

Patrick Reed is one of 28 LIV golfers in the field at the Hong Kong Open this week. The other big names include Paul Casey, Charl Schwartzel, Graeme McDowell, and Anthony Kim.

Defending champion Reed is undoubtedly the most high-profile player at the event, so he can be expected to be in contention on Sunday.

Tom McKibbin is another LIV player to look out for after he shot a course record 60 (-10) at the Hong Kong Golf Club on Thursday.

Open champion Louis Oosthuizen (-8) and former European Ryder Cup player Thomas Pieters (-8) also enjoyed strong starts to the tournament.
