Scottie Scheffler revealed an interesting aim before the 2024 Olympics, and now Nelly Korda has followed suit.

Scheffler landed his first gold medal on Sunday after producing a simply stunning final round to edge out Tommy Fleetwood at Le Golf National.

The world number one was on the edge of contending for much of the week before his inevitable final-round charge gathered pace.

Despite taking home the gold medal, Scheffler said he wanted to “have fun” at the start of the week, and Korda has now shared a similar stance.

Korda, who has landed six victories in 2024 and racked up over $3 million, is the favourite to win her second Olympic gold at Le Golf National.

However, the 26-year-old has claimed she is simply trying to play “some good golf”.

“Try a Crookie and play some good golf,” Korda wrote.

Nelly Korda’s recent form is a slight cause for concern ahead of the 2024 Olympics

Despite all her dominance since the turn of the year, there are some justifiable concerns about Korda’s form heading into the Olympics. Korda stunned the golfing world at the US Open after making a ten during his first round at Lancaster Country Club.

Since then, things haven’t been overly impressive for the world number one.

Korda missed the cut at the LPGA Classic, finishing on one under through her two rounds. The Women’s PGA Championship was another disappointing outing. Korda finished on plus-six for the tournament and once again saw her weekend cut short.

There were some positive signs at the Amundi Evian Championship after she made her first cut since the Mizuho Americas Open in May. Korda’s poor form has perhaps gone under the radar of late, but an impressive Olympic outing will see her recent woes quickly forgotten about.
