There was a disappointing end to the third round for both Charley Hull and Nelly Korda at The ANNIKA with both players making a bogey on the 18th hole to remain within reach of the chasing pack.

It looked set to be a mouthwatering final group during the third round at The ANNIKA, with a rematch of the opening match from the Sunday singles at this year’s Solheim Cup. Obviously, on that occasion, it was Nelly Korda who took the advantage into the session with USA boasting a comfortable lead.

But it was Charley Hull who sprung a bit of a surprise at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, with an emphatic victory. Korda joked afterwards that Hull had ‘smoked’ her in the 6&4 triumph.

It was Hull who led going into round three in Florida this week. But Korda has closed that gap to one shot heading into Sunday. The world number one shot 67 as Hull posted a 68. It could have been even better for Korda had she not made a bogey on the last.

In fact, both players made a five on 18. And it seems that Korda felt that her cause was not helped by how dark it was by the time her round concluded. Speaking after her round, Korda hit out at the organisers over the timings.

“It’s kind of hard when you don’t really see. I think it was a little bit of poor planning by starting so late for us,” she said.

“Whenever you’re sitting on 18 and the sun is already down, I mean, it’s never nice. And especially with how slick these greens are and you can’t properly see, I mean, obviously two factors that go into that too. At the end of the day I’m the one that missed it, so yeah.”

The change for the final round which impacts Korda and Charley Hull

Unsurprisingly, there has been a change for the final round, with the final group teeing off an hour earlier. Korda and Hull will be playing alongside Weiwei Zhang, who shot a stunning 62 on Saturday.

Korda is, of course, looking for her seventh win of an incredible season. She absolutely flew out of the blocks, before going through a real dip in form over the summer. Korda did however, look like a superstar with her performance over the first two days at the Solheim Cup.

But Hull got back to winning ways in Saudi Arabia last week. And she is yet to shoot worse than 68 at The ANNIKA, so it may take something special to stop her on Sunday.
