Tommy Fleetwood suffered yet another devastating defeat on Sunday, this time at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Fleetwood led the FedEx St Jude Championship by one stroke heading into the final round on Sunday, and midway through his back nine, he had taken control of the tournament.
When the Englishman birdied the 15th hole, he had a two-shot lead over Justin Rose and J.J. Spaun.
However, Fleetwood’s game deserted him at the FedEx St Jude down the stretch with some poor shots leading to a par on the reachable par-five 16th and a bogey on the 17th.

Fleetwood was positive as ever when speaking to the press after his gut-wrenching defeat.
He always comes across as such a genuinely nice and humble man, but is that what he is really like behind the scenes?
Michael Kim on if Tommy Fleetwood is as nice as he seems
In the world of professional golf, Michael Kim is the man fans go to for inside info or behind-the-scenes gossip.
The 31-year-old one-time PGA Tour winner often takes part in Q&A sessions on social media, and he did exactly that after the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday night
Kim was asked by a follower if Fleetwood really is as nice as he seems.

Kim responded just how you would expect:
There wasn’t any doubt anyway was there? You can’t fake some things, and the way that Fleetwood comes across is clearly very genuine.
Tommy Fleetwood’s PGA Tour record after FedEx St. Jude heartache
Fleetwood now has the best record in the game among players who haven’t won on the PGA Tour.
Here are his career results to date:
| Results | Fleetwood’s totals |
| Events played | 162 |
| Wins | 0 |
| Top-5s | 29 |
| Top-10s | 43 |
| Cuts made | 24 |
| Money earned | $32,520,669 |
Fleetwood will unquestionably find a way of getting over the line sooner rather than later, he’s simply too good a player not to.
The Englishman clearly has some kind of mental block right now, and if he is to win on the PGA Tour, he will need to improve upon the way he thinks down the stretch in big events.
Fleetwood may not have won the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday, but he would have gained even more fans with his post-round interview.
Form is temporary but class is permanent, as they say.
