Max Homa has got his 2025 PGA Tour season underway, having finished T26 at The Sentry last week.
Homa ended his four rounds at Kapalua in Hawaii on 19-under, with Hideki Matsuyama winning the PGA Tour season opener at The Sentry.
Matsuyama shot the lowest 72-hole score in PGA Tour history as he edged out Collin Morikawa on 35-under to lift the trophy.
Both Homa and Matsuyama will, however, soon swap the course for the SoFi Center in Florida as they take on the TGL.
Homa is excited for the TGL, where he will line out for Jupiter Links GC alongside Tiger Woods, Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim.

Max Homa says what was ‘cool’ about his driving at The Sentry
Matsuyama meanwhile will play with Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley and Adam Scott for Boston Common Golf.
Matsuyama may have won The Sentry, but Homa was very pleased with his display, as he revealed on the No Laying Up podcast.

“We got it all dialled about three or four weeks ago with the clubs when I felt like it was in a good spot,” said Homa.
“Weird course to do it on but also kind of good. I am stoked with the changes in the equipment and the apparel, it felt exciting.
“Sometimes the off-season can be a drag and this year, it was a bummer last year, so I was really motivated. Sometimes you need a spark.
“All the stuff I have been doing with my new coach was awesome and I saw a lot of benefit. That has to be the best I have driven a golf ball since Augusta.
“I know they are big fairways but it felt like I was hitting a lot of the ones where I meant to. I wasn’t just playing with the slopes. So that was cool. I am working my ass off.”
Max Homa makes Tiger Woods claim ahead of TGL debut
Homa topped the PGA Tour longest drive list for 2024, with his third-round effort on the seventh hole of The Sentry going 477 yards.
The tournament in Hawaii was responsible for nine of the 10 longest drives last time out, and looks likely to produce a similar feat this time around.
| Rank | Player | Distance (Yards) | Tournament | Round | Hole | Course |
| 1 | Max Homa | 477 | Sentry | 3 | 7 | 656 |
| 2 | Cameron Young | 470 | Sentry | 3 | 7 | 656 |
| 3 | Lucas Glover | 465 | Sentry | 3 | 7 | 656 |
| 4 | Taylor Moore | 464 | Sentry | 3 | 7 | 656 |
| 5 | Harris English | 463 | Sentry | 3 | 7 | 656 |
Homa ranked 36th with his 400-yard effort on the final hole of the tournament, with Jake Knapp’s sixth-hole tally of 444 yards leading the way.
World number 40 Homa now wants to take his hard work into the TGL, with a debut on the cards on 14 January.
“This will be a huge test for all the work I have put in,” said Homa. “I will have to see where I work out in the rotation for the three-way alt shot.
“That will be a massive part of this. I typically thrive on par threes and I am assuming Tiger will be taking those because he is the greatest iron player to ever live, so I am not sure where I am going to fit in.
“I am fairly certain Tiger got me and Kiz (Kisner) on the team so we would talk for everybody, because I think that is where we are going to thrive.”
