Max Homa says there’s one person to blame for him not winning a major just yet

Max Homa is definitely one of the most popular players on the PGA Tour right now and it feels a matter of time before he scores a major win.

The 33-year-old is a nine-time winner on the tour and had a decent enough 2023. He won the Farmers Insurance Open for his only win of the year and sealed a top ten finish in The Open.

Homa also holed a big putt in the Ryder Cup to extend the tournament against Matt Fitzpatrick to show his worth to Team USA.

However, in the main, his performances in majors has been disappointing. He hasn’t made the cut in five of the last 12 efforts, and he finished down in 43rd in last year’s Masters.

But Homa being Homa has come out swinging and in response to an apparent internet troll, has hilariously blamed his wife for his record in the biggest tournaments. Taking to X to share his thoughts on someone’s comments on TikTok, Homa brilliantly claimed that it’s nothing to do with having a child, and that it’s all on his wife!

Among all the rubbish in golf these days and the constant chatter about how much money someone is earning on the LIV or PGA Tour, it’s nice to have something light-hearted to laugh at.

Max Homa is 100% one of the great characters in golf right now and he interacts well with fans and journalists alike on his social platforms.

This is just a big of tongue-in-cheek banter and it’s funny to see, in all honestly.

Of course, it will be interesting to see what Homa’s wife has to say! But she’ll be used to this sort of shtick from Homa and it’s all good fun.

In all seriousness, his record in the majors isn’t great and it would be fantastic to see him produce this year.

Homa played well this weekend at Bay Hill to finish 8th in the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He’ll be hoping to take that form into the Masters in just over a month’s time.
