Max Greyserman delivers verdict on WWT Championship scoring after spotting issue with Tiger Woods-designed course

Max Greyserman is once again in contention heading into the weekend of a PGA Tour event, this time at the WWT Championship in Mexico.

The 29-year-old is still in search of his first PGA Tour victory after coming close on multiple occasions in 2024.

Greyserman finished second at the Wyndham Championship after collapsing during the latter stages of the final round. Greyserman was also in contention at the ZOZO Championship, only for Colombian Nico Echavarria to clinch victory.

The American is once again battling Echavarria, this time at El Cardonal; both are tied for the lead at 12 under.

Testing conditions welcomed the players on Thursday, and Greyserman admitted he’d spotted some issues with the Tiger Woods-designed course.

The 29-year-old also claimed he wanted to face the course in less windy conditions, and Greyserman’s wishes came true on Friday as calmer weather welcomed the players.

“Way less wind; at times, it was pretty minimal. It was get-able out there. Lots of birdies to be hand, and if you execute, you can go pretty low and saw someone shot 61,” the American explained.

“Not surprising, you can make a lot of birdies out here, but it’s a fairly easy course to execute. At the same time, you can hit a bad drive and end up out of play or not make putts, but it’s out there.”

Max Greyserman PGA Tour win only a matter of time

A PGA Tour victory is only a matter of time for Greyserman. Since the US Open, the American hasn’t missed a cut and has been in contention on multiple occasions.

Greyserman has finished runner-up on three occasions, including back-to-back finishes at the 3M Open and Wyndham Championship.

Furthermore, the 29-year-old only just missed out on the Tour Championship at East Lake after finishing T28 at the BMW Championship in Denver.

If Greyserman can continue his impressive form into 2025, his first PGA Tour victory will almost certainly be just around the corner.
