Maverick McNealy suggests how he’ll react if Keegan Bradley does not pick him for the Ryder Cup team on Wednesday

Maverick McNealy is one of a number of players hoping to get a captain’s pick from Keegan Bradley for the Ryder Cup next month.

McNealy has enjoyed a fine season and managed to get himself into the top 12 ahead of the crucial selections in the coming weeks.

McNealy finished his season on the PGA Tour by finishing his final round at even par to finish at six under and inside the top 25.

Now, he faces an anxious wait to see if he’ll be part of the squad for Bethpage Black.

Nevertheless, with the call to come from Keegan Bradley in the next few weeks, McNealy has suggested exactly how he’ll feel if he misses the cut.

With so many USA players hoping to get the call from Bradley, McNealy will know full well that he’s in a cluster of players who could be heartbroken or delighted.

However, being open and honest after the final round at East Lake, McNealy admitted he’s all in on being part of the squad.

“I’m actually heading to Cleveland for a KPMG outing today. So I’ll be very busy. It’s out of my control. I promise you I gave it everything I had this year, and if I get a call that I’m on that team, I’ll do everything I can to be ready on that first tee. It’s out of my hands. I think there’s a lot of players playing well on the U.S. side, so that’s great news,” McNealy said.

“A hundred percent. Nobody wants to win the Ryder Cup more than Keegan Bradley. I know he’s going to make the decision that’s best for the team.

“At the end of the day, it comes down to who plays the best golf. From everything I’ve seen Captain Keegs do this year, he’s making some great decisions for the team, and I’m sure he’ll continue to do so.”

Maverick McNealy’s 2025 PGA Tour record

Maverick McNealy has had a stellar year on the PGA Tour without winning and there is every chance he does get the pick.

Without winning, though, that might mean there is a doubt in Bradley’s mind over whether McNealy has the it-factor.

Still, in terms of performance and consistency, McNealy has done enough to be under serious consideration.

With a nervous wait to come, McNealy will be hoping for the best after a more than acceptable season.
