Whatever the future holds for Greg Norman, it’s safe to say that his impact on the game of golf has been huge, both as a player and in his time as LIV Golf CEO.
Norman was a key driver in LIV signing a range of top players to its tour and using the PIF funds, Norman has attracted the likes of Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and more to the LIV side of things.
However, with Norman set to move on from that CEO role, there are big questions over what the future of LIV might hold – as well as Norman.
LIV are expected to appoint Scott O’Neil to run the ship while it remains to be seen what exactly happens with Norman.
Norman is well liked inside LIV and there are some who feel he might get another role.
And according to current LIV star Marc Leishman, that’s exactly what should happen.

LIV Golf told what to do when it comes to the future of Greg Norman
Speaking at the Australian Open, Leishman was asked about the future of Norman and while he admitted he doesn’t know the ins and outs of the LIV CEO’s situation, Leishman believes LIV players have a lot to thank Norman for.
“I think he did a really good job,” Leishman said. “I have no idea though [if the report is true]. It’s not that I don’t keep up with it, it’s just that they operate the business, and I play golf, which is probably the way I like to be honest.
“The players have benefitted from it whether you’re on LIV or you’re not on LIV. He put his a– on the line to get this started.
“Love him or hate him, as a golfer, he’s certainly helped our lifestyle. He’s worked really hard, really given a few years of his life. We don’t know how many years that is.
“I would hate to think how many hours he works a week and how many hours he flies. LIV has been going for two and a half years, but how long he’s been doing it before that, who knows.
“He’s sacrificed a lot. Obviously, he’s got pretty well compensated as well, but I hope he stays involved in some way.”
Greg Norman’s impact on golf cannot be denied
There might be differing opinions on Norman and how he’s gone about things since he took the CEO role with LIV, but he will not be departing without having left his mark.
Regardless of your thoughts on Norman, he is leaving his role with LIV having helped rock golf to its core.
LIV and the PGA are still yet to thrash out a deal, while players are apparently clamouring to get onto the LIV Tour, such is the attractiveness.
Norman, then, will be leaving with his head held high and knowing he accomplished his mission to be the ultimate disruptor for golf.
Rest assured, this won’t be the last we see or hear of Greg Norman.
