Ludvig Aberg is arguably the most promising talent in professional golf, having already achieved so much at 25 years old.

Aberg arrived on the PGA Tour scene in 2023 and made Luke Donald’s Ryder Cup team later that year. The Swede scored two points as Europe hammered the United States.

He won his first event at the RSM Classic shortly after and became a top 10 player in the world rankings last year, helped by impressive performances at The Masters and US Open.

Aberg earned his first Signature Event victory at the Genesis Invitational in February 2025, and now his next objective should be to succeed in a major championship.

However, golf expert Taylor Zarzour believes he needs to improve one area of his game before he can wear the Green Jacket.

Taylor Zarzour says what Ludvig Aberg must improve to win The Masters

Experience is crucial at Augusta National, yet Aberg finished runner-up behind Scottie Scheffler in his Masters debut.

This suggests that the course suits the 25-year-old extremely well and that he has every chance of winning next week.

Zarzour is confident that Aberg will achieve Masters victory at some point, though he says his short game needs to get better first.

He explained: “Ludvig Aberg comes to my mind first. The way he can shape a shot. The only hesitation I have right now is about his short game.

“The guy finished second in his first Masters so he’s already had a legitimate shot. I hate to keep yielding the floor to people that have played there but it’s almost for confirmation. I think he’s going to need to improve his short game in order to win a Green Jacket.

“I think he can finish in the top five on an annual basis with what he has right now. I would expect him to be a factor in this year’s event but if he’s going to win it, I’m going to need to see better shots around the green.”

Johnson Wagner names another future Masters winner

Johnson Wagner first agreed that Aberg is likely to win The Masters and then suggested another player who has the requisite skillset.

“I also have Akshay Bhatia written down,” he said. “The way he hits his driver, the way he flights it, that left to right move. The guy is 22 years old. I think he’s going to show us something this year.”

Bhatia wasn’t as impressive as Aberg at last year’s Masters, but it’s still impressive that he made the cut and finished 35th in his first attempt.

The 23-year-old has two PGA Tour victories already (2023 Barracuda Championship and 2024 Valero Texas Open) and has the potential to become a world-class player.
