LIV Golf enjoyed a stellar year in 2024 as they made significant progress both in terms of the standard of play and their standing in the game overall.
The acquisition of a big name like Jon Rahm, coupled with some huge events around the world being well-received by fans, means LIV are on the up ahead of 2025.
As we know, Rahm won the individual title while in the team event, it was Cam Smith’s Rippers GC who took the trophy home.
The Rippers also won their home event in Adelaide in what was one of the standout moments in golf in 2024.
And while Smith is the star of the show for the Rippers, his teammate, Lucas Herbert, has admitted that getting to be on Smith’s team serves way more benefit than competing against him.

Lucas Herbert reveals he’s had help from Cam Smith he’d never get on the PGA Tour
Speaking in a wide-ranging interview with news.au.com, Herbert spoke of the positives of being on LIV and drew attention to the help he’s got off Cam Smith as an example.
“I am comfortably, comfortably better this year. I mean, Cam Smith gave me an hour of his time on the chipping ground at the Greenbrier. Can’t imagine that ever happening to any other player when we’re playing individual events on the PGA Tour,” Herbert said.
“So just the knowledge I’ve been able to zap from my teammates at various stages throughout the year has been awesome, and my game has massively benefited from that.”
2025 will be a big year for LIV Golf
This year has felt like a huge step for LIV Golf and they’ll be keen to capitalise on some of the momentum they’ve gathered.
With Sergio Garcia admitting the Fireballs are looking for a new player, we could see an influx of new stars to the tour as well, which further creates intrigue.

Quite who the player who joins Garcia is, is unknown.
But this sort of difference from the PGA Tour is what LIV can tap into and should it be yet another big name, then LIV are in for a big season in 2025.
