Tyrrell Hatton is part of a strong LIV Golf contingent participating at this week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
14 LIV stars are present at the Alfred Dunhill, which is played across three iconic courses: Kingsbarns, Carnoustie and the Old Course at St Andrews.
Hatton carded a seven-under 65 at Carnoustie on Thursday. What’s more, the Englishman was playing alongside his dad, Jeff.
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship incorporates a pro-am style event alongside the professional tournament, and Hatton believes the unique aspect makes the DP World Tour event extra special.
Tyrrell Hatton shares what he loves about the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

After the conclusion of the opening day’s play, Hatton was asked: “How enjoyable is it to get the opportunity to play with your family?”
The LIV star replied: “I think that’s part of what makes this tournament so special. It’s very different from what we experience week-in, week-out, and yeah, it’s really nice.
“I think my dad enjoyed it a bit more today. I think this is their third time playing the event. He’s nervous but he’ll take some confidence from that. Hopefully, we can do well at the team event.”
Tyrrell Hatton eyes third Alfred Dunhill Links Championship win
Hatton is looking for his third Alfred Dunhill Links Championship win this week after previously taking the title in 2016 and 2017.
If the LIV man were to run out victorious in 2024, he would become the first player in history to win three Alfred Dunhill titles.
Jon Rahm has asked Hatton for advice this week, and the LIV duo will look to go low at Kingsbarns on Friday, a course that typically produces the best scoring.
Darren Fichardt carded an 11-under 61 on Thursday, and with some of the game’s elite at Kingsbarns on Friday, low scores can be expected.
