Paul Casey perhaps went under the radar in 2024 on the LIV Golf League. The Englishman ended the year 11th in the individual standings.
Although past his prime, the 47-year-old demonstrated he could compete with some of the world’s best players in the PIF-backed venture.
Casey came close to his first LIV victory in Hong Kong, finishing second behind Mexican Abraham Ancer. Upon the conclusion of last season, Casey admitted that winning on LIV is extremely hard.
There’s no doubt Casey has massively improved on his first LIV Golf season, and he’s now told Rick Shiels that he wants to finish ahead of Bryson DeChambeau in next year’s standings.
Paul Casey’s 2024 LIV Golf target

Speaking on Shiels’ latest podcast, Casey initially spoke about how DeChambeau called him and asked him to join Crushers GC.
“When I had a call from Bryson a couple of years ago, and LIV was starting, he was like, I am going to be a captain. Do you want to be on my team? I was like, yeah,” Casey explained.
“The Bryson we see now, a lot of people maybe were not aware of the Bryson we see now and who he is and what he is and the heart that he has got. He’s just a big kid. Being a part of Bryson’s team and being around somebody like that… I am p***** off last year that I didn’t beat him. I know he won the US Open, but looking at the LIV season, I finished 11th. I had some moments I didn’t play my best golf, and I walked away thinking I was frustrated that I didn’t beat him. He finished eight or ninth, so that gets my goat; that keeps me going.”
Shiels’ podcast host Guy Charnock then asked: “In 2025, do you want to beat Bryson?”
Casey replied: “I don’t publicise my goals, but I will tell you right now that I want to beat Bryson in the rankings in 2025.”
How many times has Bryson DeChambeau won on LIV Golf?
DeChambeau has won twice in his LIV Golf career, both coming in the 2023 season.
The American’s win at Greenbrier will go down in LIV history. DeChambeau’s 58 in West Virginia was one of the lowest rounds of golf ever seen and produced probably the league’s most historic moment.
The two-time US Open winner would pick up his second win in Chicago just a matter of weeks later.
DeChambeau did not win in 2024, however. He was tied for third in Nashville and fourth in Jeddah. The 31-year-old eventually ended the season in eighth spot.
