A LIV Golf star has endured a day to forget during the opening round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
14 LIV Golf stars are present at the DP World Tour event, which is played on three of Scotland’s iconic courses: Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, and the Old Course at St Andrews.
PIF chief Yasir Al-Rumayyan and Jay Monahan are also present as rumours emerge over a fresh round of talks between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf’s investment arm.

Hudson Swafford stone-dead last at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

LIV’s Hudson Swafford is currently 168th after carding a 77 at the Old Course. The American was one over through the first nine before dropping six shots on the back, which included an eight on the par-five 16th.
Swafford finished the LIV Golf season 55th and inside the drop zone after failing to register a single point, having played every single breakaway tour event.
The 37-year-old faces the genuine possibility of losing his spot ahead of the 2025 season.

Jon Rahm was the standout LIV performer after carding a seven-under-par opening round at Carnoustie.
Brooks Koepka, also at Carnoustie, carded a one-under-par round on his DP World Tour return. Koepka’s compatriot Patrick Reed Finished on two under after starting his tournament at the Old Course.
Rory McIlroy, the Northern Irishman, shot a three-under-par round at Carnoustie alongside his dad, Gerry.
Billy Horschel, also at Carnoustie, finished at two under.
